Sconces

Bathroom Sconces

To evenly light up a bathroom mirror when choosing two sconces on either side, we'd recommend mounting the sconces just about eye level, or around 60-65 inches from the floor to the center height of the backplate.

When installing one sconce above a mirror, the ideal linear light will be about 3/4 the width of the mirror and shouldn't extend over the mirror's edges. For one large mirror, you could also mount two evenly-spaced linear sconces.

Multiple Sconces

When installing multiple sconces in a hallway, dining room, living room, or even an accent wall, we'd recommend mounting the sconces just about eye level, or around 60-65 inches from the floor to the center height of the backplate, and about 8-10 feet apart to create a balanced spread of light.

Bedside Sconces

When installing a sconce by your bed, we'd recommend you leave about 55-60 inches from the floor to the top of the sconce.

Picture Sconces

We'd recommend the width of the shade of a picture light measure about half of the width of the frame below it. The light should be positioned at a 30 degree angle from the frame.

Pendants & Fans

Kitchen Island Pendants

Pendants over an island should be between 30-36 inches from the surface of your island. If you are installing multiple fixtures, the widest part of the fixture should be at least 30 inches apart to allow ample light dispersement and visibility.

Dining Room Table Pendants

Pendants over a dining table should be between 30-36 inches from the surface of your table and at least 6 inches narrower than the width of your table as not to overpower the space.

Pendant Height in Room

Pendants in a Great Room, Family Room, or Living Room should be calculated based on ceiling height
